2. These terms
These terms apply to every quote and order, whether you order on this website, by email or at our counter. By placing an order you accept them. We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page when you place your order applies to that order.Quoted work is also subject to the standard trading conditions of the Printing Industries Federation of South Africa (PIFSA), where they do not conflict with these terms.Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) where it applies to you.3. Prices and quotes
- All prices are in South African rand. Prices on this website include VAT at 15%.
- Prices on this website are for the options shown on each product. Work outside those options is quoted separately.
- Quotes show whether amounts include or exclude VAT. Where a quote shows amounts excluding VAT, VAT at 15% is added on the invoice.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days from the quote date, except for increases in material prices, and depend on stock being available and on seeing your final artwork. They are based on the details and artwork you gave us: a change in quantity, size, paper, finishing or artwork can change the price, and we will tell you before we go ahead.
- If a price on the website is clearly wrong, we will contact you before we accept the order. You can then go ahead at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
4. Orders
Your order is accepted when we confirm it by email. We start production once your payment has been received and your artwork, or your proof, has been approved.5. Payment
- Online orders are paid in full at checkout by debit or credit card through Paystack.
- Card details are entered on Paystack's secure, PCI-DSS certified payment page. We never see or store your full card number.
- Quoted work: when you accept a quote we issue an invoice, and a 50% deposit is payable before work starts. The balance is payable on collection (cash on delivery) unless our accounts department has approved a credit application. Please use the quote or invoice number as your payment reference.
- A tax invoice is emailed with your order confirmation.
6. Artwork and proofs
- You are responsible for the content of your artwork: spelling, wording, numbers, images, colours and layout.
- Please supply a print-ready PDF at the final size with 3 mm bleed, fonts outlined or embedded and images at 300 dpi. Our artwork guide and templates explain how.
- We check files for basic technical problems, such as missing bleed or low resolution, and tell you if we find any. We do not proofread your content.
- When we send a proof, check it carefully. Once you approve a proof, we print it as approved and are not responsible for errors in it.
- Design work, changes to correct problems in supplied artwork, and additional proofs are charged at our studio rates, which we confirm before we start. Artwork must be in a recognised graphics format, with all fonts included and images in CMYK.
7. Colour and finish
Screens show colour in RGB light; print uses CMYK ink on paper, so printed colours will not match your screen exactly. Small differences in colour between proofs, paper stocks, print runs and machines, and small trimming and folding tolerances (about 1 mm), are normal in printing and are not defects. If an exact colour matters, ask us about a printed proof or Pantone matching before you order.8. Your content and copyright
- By sending us artwork, logos, photos or text, you confirm that you own it or have permission to print it, and that it is lawful. You agree to cover any claim made against us because we printed it.
- We may refuse to print anything that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, infringes someone else's rights, or reproduces money or identity documents.
- Designs our studio creates for you may be used by you for their intended purpose once paid in full. Open working files are supplied on request [to confirm].
9. Turnaround and collection
- Lead times on product pages and quotes are full working days for production only; they do not include proofing. They start when your order, approved artwork and payment (or deposit) reach us before 09:00. For orders and payments received after 09:00, add one working day. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are excluded.
- We are not responsible for delays outside our control, such as power or supplier outages.
- Orders are collected from our shop at Byls Bridge Promenade, normally from 16:00 on the day they are due, unless we tell you otherwise or delivery has been agreed in writing. We let you know by email or phone when your order is ready.
- Please collect within 30 days. Work not collected after 90 days may be disposed of after we have given you written notice [to confirm].
10. Cancellations and changes
- You can cancel an order for a full refund until production has started.
- After production has started, we charge for the work done and materials used, and refund the rest.
- Printed work is made to your specifications. The seven-day cooling-off right in section 44 of the ECTA does not apply to goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised, so finished work cannot be returned for a change of mind.
11. Faulty work, reprints and refunds
- Please check your order when you collect it. If it is faulty, or not what you ordered, and the problem is not in artwork or a proof you approved, tell us as soon as you can, ideally within 7 days, with photos.
- We will reprint, repair or refund in line with the CPA. Your right to goods of good quality, including the CPA's six-month implied warranty, is not affected.
- Card refunds are paid back to the card you used, through Paystack, normally within 10 working days.
